We were like day and night
Without one one wouldn’t arise
We were like cold and warmth
One had to feel to know the other
We were like earth and sun
Too near and we would be burnt
Too far and we wouldn’t exist
We were like old and cradle
One had chapters completed
One had chapters to unfold
We were like heart and brain
One had to feel, other had to think
We were like poor and rich
One had nothing to lose
Other had everything to lose
We were like pain and happiness
One had to be abandoned
Other had to be created
We were like summer and Autumn
One had to exit
The next had to enter
But somehow in-between
We existed together
As day and night in 24 hours
Cold and warmth as weather in a day
As earth and sun in a solar system
As cradle and old in one life time
As heart and brain in one body
As poor and rich in loss and gain
As pain and happiness in tears and smiles
As summer and Autumn in seasons of the year
We were us all along
Existing together as a different entity
Just as you and me, he and she, they and us.
