When is the right time? Where is the right platform?

What do you plan to do in your life? I think asking what are you planning to do in your life is ridiculous coming from me, when I don’t even have a proper plan for what I will do tomorrow. I think we are usually bounded by time and place to do what we need to do. We don’t eat dinner for breakfast. Aren’t we usually waiting for the right time and right platform? Just like waiting for the train on the right platform, else you will either miss the train or you will not reach your destination. But what if your plan for the day is to bring joy to someone (strangers), make someone smile, or make someone happy? When is the right time and where is the right platform?

Today, a stranger was sitting at the side of a footpath in an intersection where thousands of people walk by. He wasn’t sitting there alone; he had crayons and two beautiful pictures painted infront of him with a label “SAT ‘smiley face’ SUN” on the footpath and collection container near him. May be he wanted to make someone’s weekend a joyful and happy one. I was drawn to those beautiful pictures. If piqued my curiosity to ask him why he painted the pictures there. The answer was to make someone’s day joyful and happy on seeing the pictures. He succeeded in giving me an instant joy on seeing his pictures. But why those cherry blossoms, fences, river and bridges?

Spring has arrived, good fences make good neighbors, bridge is the connection and I missed out to ask him about river. He particularly said his beautiful garden doesn’t have a gate, because it is a garden of joy and anyone can come and go anytime they want. The fence marks the boundary but it doesn’t have the ownership. I think he already shared the joy and happiness to hundreds of travelers like me.

He definitely made my day and I hope I make your day/night when I share you the picture he has drawn on the footpath. May be sometimes you don’t always have to wait for the right time and right platform just something right from your heart.

P.S: Random thoughts and dedication to the footpath man who is sharing his joy and happiness to the stranger passersby.
